How to know your face shape?

If you want to choose your next eyeglasses properly, you first need to identify your facial contours. In general, there are five main categories of face shapes worldwide:

  • Square: The sides of your face will be straight, and your jawline will be slightly angled with a very minimal curve.
  • Round: The sides of your face will be curved slightly outward, and your chin will be rounded, while the cheekbones are the widest part of your face.
  • Heart: Your chin will be pointed and the forehead will be the widest part of your face.
  • Triangular: Your face is long rather than wide, and your forehead is narrow, while the jaw is wide and strong.
  • Oval: Your foreheads will be a bit wider than your curved chin, like an egg placed upside down.
  • Diamond: You would have pointed chins and high cheekbones, when we draw a line connecting the center of the hairline to cheekbones, down to the chain, we will get a diamond shape.
  • Oblong: Your face will look similar to the square face shape but wider, the cheeks, jawline, and forehead will be the same width as your chin.
  • Base Down Triangle: The widest dimension of the face will be the lower jawline while the narrowest portion of the face will be the forehead.

Pull your hair back and draw a line on your face contour on the mirror, once you determine your face shape, you will be ready to get the perfect pair of eyeglasses.

Glasses for All Face Shapes

  • Round and oval frames are usually the best choice for people who have square faces. Especially since they soften your strong jawline. We recommend trying Mays or Siri glasses from our collection.
  • Square eyeglasses can be the best option for your round face, they will make the illusion that your face is slimmer. Try Finely or Jenkins glasses, these classic glasses are the season’s hottest trend.
  • Heart shape faces can look good with any kind of glasses, especially rectangle, oval, or aviator frames. Winter glasses from Osse will transport your look to the golden age of Hollywood.
  • Rectangle, Aviator, and Cat-Eye glasses fit people who have tringle face shapes. We think Higgins or Kelin glasses would add a classic fashion touch to your style.
  • Oval shape faces can fit almost any style; however, they look better with square or rectangular frames such as Mendoza or Kobe glasses from our collection.
  • Rectangular and oval frames are the best eyeglasses for a diamond face because they contrast with your facial features, we recommend using Griffin or Kelly glasses especially if you are looking for elegant, classy, and chic style.
  • Oblong face can look better with cat-eye, square or oval, or aviator frames, such as Kennedy, or Artemis glasses from our glasses.
  • Choose frames that are rectangular or oval if you have a base-down triangle face shape, try Harper, or Joslyn glasses, they are available in different colors, perfect for everyday wear.

After choosing the glasses' shape, it’s important to know the right glasses measurements for you. That’s why it is important to check the dimension of the glasses, you will find them in this form (61 x 18 x 150 mm). The first number indicates the width of the lenses, and the second number is the distance between the lenses, while the last number is the length of the temple arm including the portion going behind your ears.

In addition to that, we recommend checking the glasses’ material, it can be made of plastic, metal, or even organic materials. We also advise you to check the PD of the glasses which is the distance between the centers of the pupils. This measurement is very important to identify where you will look through the lens of their glasses. If this measurement is wrong, you won’t be able to focus properly from both lenses at once.

Check your old glasses to determine these measurements or ask your doctor for more information.

Remember that this is a guide, not a rulebook, so, just take a look at the frames, try them and choose what you like, no one can write your style rules but you!
